Our mission at Andover Cakes is to treat each client as our only client and to devote all of our time & creativity into crafting a unique cake that is both a work of art and a memorable dessert.

Each cake starts with an idea. Our pastry chef Michael Grant meets with each client individually to pour over these ideas. An artist sketch is produced and approved by the client, along with a tasting so that the particular cake flavor & filling can be chosen.

When finished the cake will look strangely familiar, because you, the client will have played a part in creating it. You and your guests can then enjoy a truly one of a kind dessert, that tastes as spectacular as it looks.

 



Andover Cakes is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Michael and Emily Grant who live in Andover Massachusetts with their three beautiful children—Lauren, Max & Samantha.

Michael Grant is the pastry chef and brings with him over 25 years experience in creating beautiful, fine quality cakes for special occasions—specializing in detailed sugar & chocolate work.

Michael graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 1980. Whereafter he schooled himself alongside three Master Pastry Chefs. In 1992, he was made Senior Pastry Chef at the JW Marriott Hotel in Century City, California, and later worked at the Copley Marriott Hotel in Boston.

Michael is mainly responsible for the baking and decorating aspect while Emily takes care of the business details. She does however, enjoy venturing into the kitchen when needed, and is very grateful for the years she spent studying Hotel and Catering Management at Brighton University in England.
